The best of wine, food and landskype with tasting and lunch

Today you will have the chance to learn about Tuscan wines and compare the products of three different wine makers of beautiful Tuscany.

We will start our day in Florence where you will meet the other participants of the tour and driving south through the countryside we will reach the first wine estate. Here you will begin to learn the essentials of wine producing while visiting the farm and seeing the old wine cellars, followed by a wine tasting. From here we will drive along the main wine road through the typical Tuscan countryside of vineyards and olive groves until we reach the second hilltop winery on our itinerary.

A wine expert will be waiting for you to share his passion for wine making and to give you a guided tour of the old wine cellars and to divulge some secrets on the making of an excellent and genuine product. After you’ve had time to satisfy your curiosity, it’s time to taste the wines produced here together with a typical Tuscan lunch of prosciutto, salami, cheeses, bruschetta, and pasta, followed by dessert and an excellent Vin Santo (sweet dessert wine). You will have the time to relax and enjoy your lunch – there is no rushing on this tour!

When lunch is finished, we will drive again along the scenic wine road to the village of Greve in Chianti, the birthplace of the famous explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, the man who discovered the New York Harbor. Enjoy some free time here to admire the main square and the local shops under the old, graceful porticoes.

To end our day, we will make one more stop at a winery to add to your experience on the wine culture and Tuscan traditions. Your visit at this winery will include a visit the cellars as well as a taste of their products including wine and excellent quality olive oil. You will be back in Florence in the afternoon.
