Antonio Bencistà

Professional Tour Guide of Florence since 2014. Sommelier since 2020. He speaks English and French.

Antonio has been a licensed private tour guide since 2014, offering bespoke cultural experiences shaped by over a decade of professional expertise. His academic background is firmly rooted in the humanities: he completed classical studies at Liceo Michelangelo in Florence, with a strong foundation in Latin, Ancient Greek, and humanistic disciplines, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Florence in 2011. His formal tour guide training was completed between late 2012 and early 2014.

He conducts private tours primarily in English and French, tailoring each experience to the interests, pace, and curiosity of his guests.

His artistic focus lies in the High and Late Renaissance, from the late 15th century onward. He has a particular appreciation for the refined harmony of the mature Renaissance and for the elegant complexity, expressive movement, and intellectual sophistication of Mannerist art—elements he brings to life through insightful and engaging storytelling.

Beyond art and history, he is passionate about gravel and off-road cycling and about wine culture. A certified sommelier since 2020, he regularly attends tastings and wine events, and he enjoys weaving local wine traditions and sensory experiences into select private itineraries.
