This 60 minute, exclusive tour will allow visitors to visit the Accademia when the museum is less crowded.

Take advantage of the opportunity to learn about Michelangelo’s art and his masterpiece, the David, in the quiet of the evening!

No trip to Florence is complete without a visit to see the masterpieces by Michelangelo and to learn of his career under the Medici Family.

You will learn about Michelangelo’s magnificent David as well as his powerful Prisoners, which were intended for the tomb of Pope Julius II. We will also talk about the unfinished Saint Matthew, and the poignant Pietà, an interesting mystery we still don’t know much about.

The Galleria dell’Accademia was founded in 1784 by Pietro Leopoldo, Grand Duke of Tuscany. Later on, the city of Florence started making plans to bring the statue of David into the Accademia with the intention to create a Michelangelo museum, with original sculptures and drawings.
